Ahrefs runs a hosted MCP server that gives AI assistants access to the Ahrefs API, from keyword data to backlink profiles. It is available on paid plans from Lite upwards, and every call draws API units from the account's monthly allowance.

What an agent can do

  • → Keyword volume, difficulty and traffic potential
  • → Backlinks and referring domains
  • → Organic keywords and top pages per domain
  • → Rank Tracker and Site Audit data
  • → Visibility in AI answers (Brand Radar)

Calls consume API units, and Ahrefs only permits connections through MCP clients, not custom scripts or bridges to the endpoint.
