Snowflake MCP server

Snowflake's managed MCP server runs inside the customer's own Snowflake account and exposes Cortex Agents, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search and SQL. The admin defines which tools it carries and can restrict SQL execution to read-only.

What an agent can do

  • → Ask plain-language questions over data
  • → Search unstructured data with Cortex Search
  • → Run SQL queries, optionally read-only
  • → Call Cortex Agents
  • → Use custom functions and procedures

The server has to be created and configured by a Snowflake admin, with at most 50 tools per server.
