Semrush runs a hosted MCP server that gives AI assistants access to its SEO API, Trends API and the read methods of the Projects API. The server has no separate fee but needs a plan with API units, and every query draws units.

What an agent can do

  • → Backlink data
  • → Traffic and market data (Trends)
  • → Read data from existing projects

SEO data needs a plan with API units (for example SEO Classic Pro/Guru or Semrush One), and every query consumes units.
